New Life Community Church of the Nazarene in Pismo Beach is inviting men of all ages to attend a large-scale, multi-church conference titled “Awaken the Giant” at the church campus from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.

The conference will feature national speakers Paul Coughlin, author of No More Christian Nice Guy, Married but not Engaged, and Unleashing Courageous Faith, and Brad Stine, a nationally known stand-up comedian and spokesperson for GodMen.

Local speakers include Dr. James Johnson Hill, Agape Christian Fellowship assistant pastor, and Gary Holcomb, who served prison time and now leads the Pure Desire recovery group in Pismo Beach, organizers said.

Cost to attend the conference is $35 and includes lunch. To order tickets, visit www.awakenthegiant.org. Tickets can also be purchased at most local Bible bookstores.

For more information, contact Lance at 710-6568 or e-mail info@awakenthegiant.org.

Nationally known stand-up comedian Brad Stine will return to the Central Coast for a special performance at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at New Life Community Church in Pismo Beach.

Admission is $10. Proceeds will go toward the building fund for Coastal Christian School’s new campus.

A former magician, Stine has appeared on Evening at the Improv, CNN, FOX News, MTV and Comedy Central.

He also has toured with Promise Keepers, and his material challenges America's preoccupation with political correctness and instead encourages personal responsibility and a return to moral standards, organizers said.

The comedy show has limited, general seating, so early ticket purchase is recommended.

Tickets are available at Coastal Christian School, 1220 Farroll Ave., Arroyo Grande or by calling

489-1213.

Tickets also can be purchased at www.coastalchristianschool.com.
